Currently, we are a School and are focused primarily on the students we have on campus. However, ALL HSDB students are transfers from other "home" schools around the State of Hawaii.
Each Complex Area (nine of them) has a Complex Area Superintendent (CAS). In September 1918, the school moved to the five-acre Cecil C. Brown Estate (present-day site of HSDB), which was purchased by the Territory of Hawai’i. The Legislature has appropriated $35,000 for the construction of the school and other buildings. Out of this amount, $8,000 was paid for the estate.
