A little over 2 hours north of LA on Highway 14, there is an abrupt turnoff for Horse Canyon Road, which is also SC65. Just a few hundred meters off the 14 there is a large map which you continue straight by and follow SC65 for about 7 miles, along relatively flat dirt roads. Highlights You can be on this trail in just under two hours from the San Fernando Valley. Plan on spending the majority of the day on this trail and the cabin is a great place to hang out for a bit and have some lunch.

This is an OHV trail. The road has sections of large whoops which makes it difficult for any vehicle to hit speed. There are sections of old broken asphalt and you will want to have a 4WD to get through this route. High clearance is recommended. If you stop at McIvers Cabin, it is a popular shelter stop for PCT hikers.
